Dependant on Machines
For all you busy moms out there, I have found an easy way to prepare #meals ahead of time. We have become #Dependant on Machines. Last year I purchased a 3-bowl Crockpot. This makes it easy for me being a working grandmother helping to raise grandkids.
Start the Machines
My morning starts with me starting all my machines going when I first get up every morning. Life is easier with the invention of these household machines. First I start the #coffee pots. Yes, that is right. I start one pot of regular super strong coffee for my husband. The second pot of coffee is the less strong decaf coffee just for me.
Then I reach over to start the dishwasher that was loaded last night after #supper. Then by this time I have started the #washing machine. Time to prepare #breakfast, so the stove becomes the next on my list of machines to start. Being on a special diet means often making breakfast from scratch.
What Meals for Today
Next is to decide on the meals we will be eating throughout the day. I often have my meals planned out. For our supper meal of the day, the crockpot is invaluable. If I cook these simple dishes in the 3 banger crockpot I can get a lot accomplished throughout the day.
- Cheesy, Cheesy, Cheesy, Polenta
- Sagealicious Lemony Butternut Squash
- Classic Jewish Brisket
After these are on to slowly cook, it is time to transfer the clothes in the washing machine to the #clothes dryer. It is time to wake the kids and get them ready for school.
Finally, the house is all to myself. I can sit down to enjoy a cup of coffee before I get started on my own work at home job. You guessed it. I am still in my pjs. Maybe I will get dressed after my coffee is finished. Maybe.
Freeze the Leftovers
Most of the time I freeze any leftovers in microwaveable stackable bowls so all I have to do for a quick #lunch for me is pull the bowl from the freezer. Pop it in the microwave to reheat it. Again another easy way to plan ahead.
Just more ways we are Dependant on Machines such as the microwave and freezer.
The dishes mentioned in this post can be found in my new cookbook “Let’s Get Cooking! Quick, Easy, Crockpot Wonders!” Get your copy today and be on your way to an easier way of cooking great meals your family will enjoy.
