Description
Larger than other rutabagas, this species has a deliciously sweet and mild flavor. You can enjoy its brilliant yellow flesh covered with purple and white skin either raw or cooked. Purple Top Rutabaga is also delicious mashed, cubes, or in stews.

Growing Tips:
Maintain a moist ground when growing Purple Top Rutabagas. Because rutabagas do not enjoy competing with other plants ensure to keep the area well cultivated, mulched, and watered. When the rutabagas gold, purple-topped roots become softball-size harvest the plants before a serious frost. Harvesting the plants by removing tops to one inch of the crown.
