There is a long and varied list from this that you can choose from, as you desire. Many people want a breed on the basis of appearance alone. People keep chickens score for different reasons. You have to need a supply of fresh eggs or meat to make you and your family healthier. Maybe I have always wanted to have the blue ribbon at the light to show their prized poultry. Perhaps like chickens, I want to wake up every morning to hear a rooster crowing outside the window.
Chickens provide all these advantages – and give you hours of entertainment and fun. They have very pleasant personalities (although some roosters can go so far!). One of my lovely parts of every day is to go to court with a track of 15 or more chickens following behind me.
Determining what your goals will be also will help you determine how you create your herd. If you do not raise chickens for meat and eggs, they do not need a rooster. The only reason you need a rooster if you specifically want fertile eggs for hatching. Your chicken will lay an egg, without or with a rooster. When you want good eggs, or you only like the way of having just a rooster to your flock, be sure to keep the cock: hen ratio in the line. Generally, for about 10 to 15 hen only a roster is enough. You definitely do not want less than 8 hens for each rooster, or your flock will suffer. The hens will be in demand too high, and taps will start fighting among themselves.
Why do you want to raise chickens that affect the choice? Basically, the chickens may be classified as meat birds, layers or the novelty of a dual purpose. A couple of races which are considered as satisfactory meat producers Cornish and New Hampshire red. Leghorn chickens are good, and Rhode Island Red Anacon. Brahma, Silky, and Buttercup are in a good show of birds.
If you plan to have a herd small garden, your best bet is probably a dual-purpose breed, even though I originally started with a breed of chicken. Some breeds are good dual purpose Dominique, Plymouth Rock, Wyandotte, and Dorking.
Other points to the consideration are the temperature and climate in your local area. I will check with rest chicken producers in your region all over the country for determining that which breed is most successful.
If you are still undecided as to what kind of chickens you want to travel, you can check the chicken farm of the estate or inheritance. These birds are considered rare or threatened. If you want to help save a race, plans to raise a herd of about 50 chickens, some taps to ensure fertile eggs can emerge or sell to the other for hatching, also help to protect a jeopardized breed.
